New/Temporary Photography Exhibitions Come to Parcel 12 on the Rose Kennedy Greenway - Opening Thursday, May 1

Parcel 12 on the Rose Kennedy Greenway will be transformed into a temporary outdoor photography gallery with the installation of The FENCE and three shipping container galleries featuring photography from local and international artists.
The Shipping Container Galleries include:

  • I am Walé Respect Me by Patrick Willocq - artistic and documentary photography showing the daily experience of Ekonda pygmies in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Seekers by Calé - blurred portraits in urban settings exploring the temporal places in which we find ourselves.
  • Take Me There by acclaimed Canadian and international travel photographers - this exhibit highlights the narrative power of photography and the importance of visual storytelling in our everyday lives.

The FENCE  Each year, The FENCE - Brooklyn's premiere summer-long, outdoor photographic exhibition - invites photographers from around the world to explore and define the meaning of community across cultural boundaries and geographical lines.  After an incredibly successful inaugural exhibition at Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2012, UPI and PDN invited Flash Forward Festival as a partner and The FENCE was extended to include a special curated version for the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston.  For more information, please visit
The FENCE will appear on the Surface Road side of Parcel 12 beginning May 1 and run through Columbus Day weekend.
The shipping container galleries will only be on Parcel 12 during May, unveiled May 1-4 during the Flash Forward Festival and then open on selected days through May 29.  For dates and times, please visit
