Quincy, birthplace of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, lies minutes south of the Boston line. Peacefield was home to both Presidents and was occupied by the Adams family until 1927. In 1946 it was donated to the US National Park Service as a historical site.  Seasonal guided tours are offered.

Plymouth is an hour south of Boston and well worth a visit.  Spend a morning or afternoon at Plimoth Plantation, the Mayflower ll and Plymouth Rock. The harbor offers numerous dining options, whale watches, fishing excursions and eclectic gift shops.

Further south (only 33 miles from downtown Boston) visitors can enjoy football, soccer or a world tour concert at Gillette Stadium - tailgating optional. Adjacent to Gillette is Patriot’s Place, a shopping, dining and entertainment destination.
