Avon officially incorporated as a town in 1888 after separating from Stoughton. The town is bordered to the south by Brockton and is located right of Route 24, a strategic location that has driven economic development. The Avon Industrial Park emerged 10 years ago and has undergone multiple expansion projects. As a community, Avon has thrived by retaining a quaint, tranquil feel while emerging as an important locale within the metropolitan South Shore economy.
