MBTA: Milton can be accessed using a light rail extension of the Red Line, the Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line. There are four stops for Milton: Milton, Central Avenue, Valley Road, and Capen Street.
Peaceful and historic Milton is located approximately 10 miles south of Boston. In 2011, Money Magazine named the town the 2nd “Best Place to Live” in the United States. It holds the first chocolate factory in New England, the Walter Baker Chocolate Factory, first opened in 1764. Several years later in 1774, the Suffolk Resolves were signed in Milton and were later used as models for the Declaration of Independence. The house where these documents were passed still stands in Milton today and serves as the headquarters of the Milton Historical Society. Notable past citizens of Milton include George W. Bush, 41st president of the United States, T.S. Eliot, American poet and student at Milton Academy, and Jenny Slate, popular Saturday Night Live comedian.
