MEET BOSTON TO HOST REGIONAL CAREER FAIR THIS SPRING
Hospitality industry employers will meet with job seekers to fill hundreds of open positions BOSTON (March 21, 2023) – Meet Boston, the official destination marketing and sales organization for the Greater Boston area, will host a third annual Regional Career Fair on April 30, 2024, at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Boston. Registration for this FREE EVENT is now open and will connect hundreds of students and job seekers with top hospitality employers in the region, providing an invaluable opportunity to explore exciting career options and connect with industry leaders.
Nearly 90 employers participated in last year’s Meet Boston Career Fair and there is an expectation for even more businesses to participate this year – including hotels, restaurants, casinos, entertainment venues, sports teams, destination management companies, tourism and attractions, meetings and conventions, travel and transportation, and more. Both students and job seekers at all levels are welcome – internships, entry-level, full-time and part-time, whether they’re hailing from trade schools, certificate programs or colleges.
“The Career Fair reflects a central tenet of Meet Boston’s purpose and value proposition, building more access and equity within the visitor economy,” said Hilina D. Ajakaiye, Executive Vice President of Meet Boston. “The travel and hospitality sector is thriving in Greater Boston, with hotel occupancy numbers expected to approach 80 percent in 2024 and Boston’s Logan Airport set to welcome a record number of passengers. The time is now to connect prospective employees with our leading hospitality businesses in Greater Boston.”

This year’s fair is being developed in partnership with Conan Harris & Associates (CHA), Meet Boston’s strategic partner in executing broader Workforce Development and Supplier Diversity initiatives. “This Career Fair is a key step in growing a diverse and skilled workforce to support the hospitality, travel and tourism economy in Greater Boston. Partnering with Meet Boston on this important initiative will strengthen our efforts at expanding our workforce economy while also providing opportunities in the hospitality industry to those of all skill levels, ethnic backgrounds, and communities,” said Conan Harris, CEO of Conan Harris & Associates.

Boston City Council President, Ruthzee Luijeune will kick off the event along with other prominent leaders. Job seekers will also hear from notable speakers throughout the day, including a distinguished keynote panel on “General Managers of Color” facilitated by James Hill of Java with Jimmy. During the career fair, professional development workshops will be held on Customer Service, Dress for Success, and Advancing from Employee to Manager. Speaking engagements are open to all attendees. A final speaking lineup will be announced closer to the event.
