Get Ready for First Night Boston 2025!
Since 1976, Boston’s First Night has been a New Year’s Eve celebration of artistic performances, the wonders of the season, and the beginning of a new year. In keeping with this fantastic Boston tradition, this year's First Night celebration will open with an array of performances.
SCHEDULE FOR FIRST NIGHT 2025:

12:00 NOON | FAMILY FESTIVAL KICKOFF
City Hall Plaza will come alive with artistic performances, ice sculpture viewings, and live entertainment that continues through midnight.
12:00 NOON – 4:30 PM | FIRST NIGHT BOSTON PLAYHOUSE
Enjoy presentations and live performances for all ages at City Hall, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and more.
6:00 PM | FIRST NIGHT PARADE
A short parade of cultural performances, colorful displays, and area dignitaries will encircle the streets of downtown Boston towards Boston Common.
7:00 PM | FAMILY FIREWORKS ON BOSTON COMMON
Kick off the evening events with a colorful display above Boston Common framed by the city skyline.
8:00 PM | FIRST NIGHT PARTY ON THE PLAZA
The tempo increases at City Hall Plaza as 2025 approaches, with back-to-back musical performances including headliner STL Gold, ice sculptures, and one big, happy Boston family in its last party of the year.
11:30 PM | MIDNIGHT COUNTDOWN
The entertainment builds to a dramatic crescendo at City Hall Plaza leading up to midnight and a spectacular light show ringing in 2025!
MIDNIGHT | FIRST NIGHT HARBOR FIREWORKS
At the stroke of midnight, the dazzling First Night Fireworks, presented by Meet Boston, will light up Boston's Inner Harbor and city skyline to welcome the new year.
