Incorporated in 1726, the town of Stoughton is named after William Stoughton, first chief justice of Colonial Courts and the flagrant chief justice of the Salem Witch Trials. It is home to the country’s oldest choral society, the Stoughton Musical Society. This charming community provides their citizens and visitors with entertainment such as local drama groups, outdoor concerts, parades, and a firework display every 4th of July at their local high school.
