With the holiday season upon us, the streets in Boston are filled with seasonal cheer, celebrations and more. We’ve gathered the top ways to celebrate the Festival of Lights this season in Boston and beyond.
Grab a Cocktail at the Hanukkah Pop-Up Bar
Starting in 2018, the Maccabee Bar was founded by award-winning bartender Naomi Levy. Designed for anyone and everyone who wants to experience a different side of the holiday, the Maccabbe Bar pop-up transforms its host locations into an immersive Hanukkah experience filled with festive décor, themed cocktails and traditional bites.
This year’s pop-ups feature two locations - one in Union Square at backbar, open from December 7 – December 26, and one at Noir in Harvard Square, open from December 5 to December 30. Book your table today!
Reserve a Hanukkah Dinner at the Inn at Hastings
Travel a bit outside of Boston proper to Town Meeting Bistro at the Inn at Hastings Park in Lexington. From December 21 to December 23, you can sample a delicious menu of all your Hanukkah favorites. Choose from brisket with caramelized cipollini onions or pan-seared arctic char with saffron couscous, ending the meal with an upside-down noodle kugel. And don’t forget the latkes, with extra sour crème fraiche, please, and thanks.
Come Together for an Evening of Art, Music and Activities at the Museum of Fine Arts
Presented in partnership with Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Jewish Arts Collaborative, the Museum of Fine Arts will be hosting an unforgettable night of performances, Spotlight Talks and more on December 15 at 5:00 PM.
Experience a Chanukah Wonderland at the Revere Hotel
Join the Revere Hotel Boston Common on Sunday, December 11 for its Chanukah Wonderland. Experience an interactive Chanukah storywalk, holiday crafts, entertainment, latkes and so much more for the entire family. We recommend purchasing tickets beforehand.
Enjoy Menorah Lightings in Boston’s Neighborhoods
It wouldn’t be a festival of lights here in Boston without some of our annual and new Menorah lightings throughout the city. Attend the 39th Annual Boston Common Menorah lighting on December 18 at 4:00 PM in Downtown Boston or venture over to the Back Bay neighborhood to Copley Square the same night for the lighting of The Boston Menorah. You can visit Boston’s Seaport neighborhood on Thursday, December 22 for an event featuring a 9’ tall Menorah, Chanukah treats and more. And don’t miss out on the menorah lighting and LED show in Boston’s South End neighborhood on Tuesday, December 20, at 5:30 PM.
